The Australian Brewery – Christmas in July

26 July 2026

Lunch at The Australian Brewery is always a pleasure, and this is the third time our Club has held our ‘Christmas in July’ there. A big thank you to Margaret who bought and decorated the table with Christmas decorations. This gave us all a festive feeling and set the mood for the day.

24 Members attended, with some of us dressing in Christmas attire or colours. The best dressed prize went to Margaret (see photos). Also thank you to everyone who donated prizes for our raffle. We had 8 prizes in total, our main one being another laser cut Morrie Woody donated by Fred Riley. This wonderful prize was won by new members Charlie & Carmen – congratulations.

Conversation and laughter were the order of the day, and a huge thank you to Stephen, our Events Co-Ordinator for organising this terrific event.

Celebrating National Motoring Heritage Day

17 May 2026

We joined the ‘Magic Metal Motoring Club Inc’ for the Richmond Classic Cruise-In, on a run from the Penrith Panther’s carpark to the Richmond Club carpark.

The rain held off, but unfortunately, we only had a few members able to attend. John entered his Woody Traveler, and it looked great among all the other classic cars.

It was a well-run event, with attendants organising the parking at both venues and this made it easy to stroll around and admire the cars.

Some of us then stayed for lunch at the Richmond Club.

Macquarie Park Windsor

19 April 2026

Another wonderful gathering of our members. Due to the fuel issues, we didn’t venture too far, deciding to meet at Macquarie Park on the Nepean River at Windsor. It is a lovely redeveloped playground and picnic area, with undercover seating and BBQs, as well as a cafe.

The Club put on a sausage sizzle. A big thank you to Rick and Margaret for organising this, it was very well received. Also thank you to Margaret and Katrina for cleaning up the BBQs after our lunch and to Ken and Amanda for bringing the cleaning products that Stephen and Denise forgot.

We were lucky enough to raffle off another laser cut Morrie in the form of a key holder, donated by Fred Riley and won by Dennis Mitchell. Congrats Dennis. Also, for something different, we did a ‘guessing competition’ – how many lollies are in the jar? Margaret was the winner; she had a secret formula that was nearly spot on.

Another family of Morris Minor enthusiasts were also there and had a good chat with Rick our Club President and other members. They also won a raffle prize.

Good weather, lovely people and a great vibe.

Warragamba  Dam

15 March 2026

Warragamba Dam Sunday 15th March

We all gathered at the Wallacia Hotel car park.

This hotel was opened in 1937, it is looking a bit tied, however the lovely manager welcomed us and made coffees for our members who wanted one. After chatting and looking at engines, we hopped in our cars and drove the short distance to Warragamba Dam.

The weather was great, and we were surprised that there were so few people picnicking. We set up our lunches in the undercover area next to our parked cars and near the amenities. The perfect spot.
A huge thank you to our members who donated eggs and chocolates for the Easter Raffle. I think we ended up with seven prizes – well done, everyone. And congratulations to all our winners.
Some of us walked down to the Dam, it is about 96% full at the moment, and it is always a plus to walk through the Visitors Centre and acknowledge the enormity of building such a structure.

Tractor 828

28 February 2026

Our run to Ebenezer was great. We all meet at Macquarie Park in Windsor, the rain held off, and after a chat and cuppa and raffle draw – lucky Brenda, Jason & Margaret- we all headed off to Tractor 828 in Ebenezer.
We were welcomed by the new owners and were sat down under a pergola in the outside area. Black clouds were hovering but no rain.

Congratulations to Laurie Bieber, who was the 2026 recipient of the Merv Dunlop Memorial Trophy.
Everyone enjoyed their lunch, lots of car chat and a great vibe was felt and a good time was had by all.

Crookwell

February 2026

The weekend away to Crookwell on the 6, 7 & 8 February was very enjoyable. Only three couples were able to go – Rick & Margaret, Robert & Robin and Stephen & Denise.
Stephen & Denise made their way to the Crookwell Caravan Park on the Friday morning, setting up their van by midday. Rick, Margaret, Robert & Robin met at a cafe in a winery on the Hume Hwy for a break and a cuppa and then onto their accommodation. Rick & Margaret in a “Tiny Home’ on a property on the outskirts of Crookwell and Robert & Robin in a Motel in Goulburn.

We all meet up for drinks and dinner at The Soldiers Club Goulburn.

Saturday Crookwell turned up the heat, it was very hot, however we all meet at a cafe in Crookwell and then moved onto the Crookwell Showground for the Annual Agricultural Show. After a couple of hours, we were all hot and bothered, so we moved to the airconditioned Crookwell Bowling Club for lunch. We then ventured back to Stephen & Denise’s caravan, ‘borrowed’ a few chairs from the Camp Kitchen and sat around having a cuppa and made plans to meet for dinner at the Criterion Pub in the main street of Crookwell.

A storm came through on Saturday night and rain persisted all of Sunday, this did bring the temp down. Because of the rain our plans changed, we were going to meet up with Heather Dunlop who had recently moved to Goulburn, go back to the Crookwell Show to see the classic cars, wood chopping, dog flyball, but being so wet, it was decided to go to The Soldiers Club at Goulburn again for lunch, the food is lovely there. Heather was able to join us and it was non stop talking.

We farewelled Rick & Margaret mid afternoon to return home. Heather invited the rest of us back to her place for afternoon tea, where we also caught up with her brother Alan and little dog Louie. Heathers new home is beautiful, she seems very settled there.

The remaining couples ventured home on Monday morning. We all agreed we had a lovely weekend despite the weather.

Tench Reserve Tuesday

13 January 2026

Happy New Year to all our Members
It was a lovely afternoon/evening at Tench Reserve Penrith. We were the only ones in that part of the Reserve, so we spread ourselves out under the rotunda and enjoyed our picnic dinners. There was plenty of chat about what we did on Christmas Day with our families and friends.

On the Nepean River there were speed boats and jet skis. Lynda and Denise walked down to the shore and saw kids playing in the water, two other teens on a jet ski speed past and sprayed them with water, but then fell off their jet ski and tipped it over – karma. We laughed but then thought that was not nice.

After lots of chat and sharing photos of family, we packed up and made our way home.

A huge thank you to Margaret who donated one of her framed art works using dried flowers from her garden and a picture of a Morrie car for our raffle. This was won by Laurie.
